Ground Pork Congee (Cháo thịt băm) Recipe

 Ingredients
4 oz. Ground Pork
1/2 cup Rice
1 Tbsp. minced Garlic
1 Tbsp. Shallots
1 1/2 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
chopped Green Onions
5 cups Water
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
Ground Black Pepper
pinch of Chicken Seasoning

In a pot, add in 1/2 cup Rice.  Rinse a few times. Add 5 cups Water.  Cook on medium heat. 

In a pan, add 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil, 1 Tbsp. minced Garlic and 1 Tbsp. Shallots.  Saute for a few seconds. Add 4 oz. Ground Pork.  Cook for a few minutes until the meat is cooked. Remove from heat. 

Wait for the rice to break down, add in the cooked pork. Continue to let it simmer on medium heat.  Add in 1 tsp. Salt, 1 1/2 tsp. Sugar and a pinch of Chicken Seasoning.  Stir the congee, once it’s the consistency that you like, add in the Green Onions and Ground Black Pepper.  Serve while hot and enjoy.
