Steam Shrimp with Lemongrass (Tôm hấp sả) Recipe

 


Ingredients
1 lb. Shrimp
Lemongrass
2 Thai Chili Pepper
1 Tbsp. Annatto Seed Oil
2 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Kosher Salt
1 cup Water
1 tsp. Rice Cooking Wine

Finely chop 2 Tbsp. Lemongrass. 

Place 1 lb. Shrimp in a bowl.  Add in 1 tsp. Kosher Salt.  Add 2 tsp. Sugar. Add 1 Tbsp. Annatto Seed Oil.  Add 1 Tbsp. minced Lemongrass. Cut some Thai Chili Pepper. Mix well. Cover and let it marinate for 15 minutes. 

Line Lemongrass in a pot and add in 1 cup Water.   Add in the marinated Shrimp.  Add in some Thai Chili Pepper and 1 Tbsp. minced Lemongrass. 

Steam on medium heat until the shrimp turns pink. Add in 1 tsp. Rice Cooking Wine. Remove from heat and serve.  Enjoy.
