Ca Thu Sot Ca (King Mackerel Steak with Tomato Sauce) Fried Fish Recipe

Ca Thu Sot Ca (King Mackerel Steak with Tomato Sauce)

Ingredients
2 King Mackerel Steak
1 Tbsp. Fish Sauce
Frying Oil
1 Garlic Clove
2 Tomatoes
2 Tbsp. Oil
1 Tbsp. minced Garlic
2 tsp. chopped Shallots
1 tsp. Kosher Salt
2 tsp. Soy Sauce
2 tsp. Sugar
1 chopped Green Onions
Black Pepper

Rinse 2 King Mackerel Steak.  Marinate the fish with 1 Tbsp. Fish Sauce. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
In a pan add in some Frying Oil.  To check if the oil is ready add in 1 Garlic Clove.  Once it's golden then add in the fish to fry.
Fry until it's golden brown. Remove and set aside.

Rinse 2 Tomatoes, dice the Tomatoes.

In a pan add 2 Tbsp. Oil. Add 1 Tbsp. minced Garlic. Add 2 tsp. chopped Shallots. Saute for a few seconds.
Add in the diced Tomatoes. Let it cook on medium high heat for about 5-7 minutes.
Add 1 tsp. Kosher Salt.  Add 2 tsp. Soy Sauce. Add 2 tsp. Sugar. Stir for a little bit. Add in the fried fish.
Let it simmer in the sauce for 3 minutes. Add in chopped Green Onions.  Add some Black Pepper.
Continue to let it simmer and soak in the sauce for another 3-5 minutes.  Remove and serve with your family meal.
