Claypot Bittermelon with Fried Tofu (Khổ qua đậu hũ) Recipe

 



Ingredients
Pinch of Salt
2 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Mushroom Seasoning
3 Bittermelon
5 Fried Tofu
1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1 Tbsp. minced Garlic
1 Tbsp. Oyster Sauce
1/4 tsp. Dark Soy Sauce
2 tsp. Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp. Water
chopped Green Onions

Cut, remove the center and rinse 3 Bittermelon.  Boil some water and add a pinch of salt, boil the bittermelon for 5-7 minutes.  Remove from the water and set aside. 

Cut 5 Fried Tofu and set aside. 

Add 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil into a claypot.  Using medium high heat, add in 1 Tbsp. minced Garlic and Bittermelon.  Saute for a few seconds. Add 2 tsp. Sugar, 1 Tbsp. Oyster Sauce, 1 tsp. Mushroom Seasoning, 2 tsp. Soy Sauce, 1/4 tsp. Dark Soy Sauce and Fried Tofu.  Mix and add in 2 Tbsp. Water.  Let it simmer until the bittermelon are soften.  Add in some chopped Green Onions and 1/2 tsp. Ground Black Pepper. Serve with meal and enjoy!
