Steamed Golden Pompano Fish with Ginger Powder/Ginger (Cá hấp gừng) Recipe

 


Ingredients
1 Golden Pompano Fish
1 Tbsp. Ginger Powder
4 oz. Ginger
1 Tbsp. Oyster Sauce
1 tsp. Mushroom Seasoning
1 1/2 tsp. Sugar
Green Onions
Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Onion
Cilantro
2 Thai Chili Pepper

Cut the Green Onions and set aside.  Cut 1/2 Onion into slices and set aside.  Peel 4 oz. Ginger and cut into strips. 

In a small bowl, add in 1 Tbsp. Ginger Powder.  Add 1 Tbsp. Oyster Sauce, 1 1/2 Sugar, 1 tsp. Mushroom Seasoning and some Ground Black Pepper. 

Add in some sliced Onions and strip Ginger.  Add some Ground Black Pepper. Mix well. 

Pat dry 1 Golden Pompano Fish.  Cut slits into the fish. Rub mixture all over the Fish.

Take a metal pan.  Place some sliced Onions and Ginger Strips on the bottom.  Place the fish on top. Place some sliced Onions and Green Onions on the fish.  Then add some Thai Chili Pepper. 

Have your steamer ready.  Place the pan with the fish in to steam. After 10 minutes, open the steamer and add in Onions, Ginger and Green Onions. Then let it continue to steam for another 10-15 minutes depends on the size of the fish. 

When the fish is cooked, remove the fish from steamer and add Cilantro and some more Thai Chili Pepper.  Enjoy with meal.
