Flower Hot Dog Buns (Banh Mi Xuc Xich Bong)

Flower Hot Dog Buns (Banh Mi Xuc Xich Bong)

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cup Bread Flour
1 Egg
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. Sugar
2 tsp. Active Yeast
3 Tbsp. unsalted Butter
3/4 cup Water (add more as needed)
Egg Wash
6 Hot Dogs
1/2 cup Shredded Cheese
1/3 cup chopped Green Onions

Heat up 3/4 cup Water make sure it's about 95-110 degrees F.  Add in 2 tsp. Active Yeast.
Give it a quick mix and set aside.
In a bowl add in 2 1/4 cup Bread Flour.  Add 2 Tbsp. Sugar.  Add 1/2 tsp. Salt.   Mix well.
Once the water mixture with the yeast is ready pour into bowl. Add 3 Tbsp. melted Unsalted Butter.
Add 1 Egg. Mix and knead into a dough. If it seems too dry add in 1-3 tsp. of water at a time.
Make sure the dough is semi-sticky.
Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit in a warm area for 1 hr or until it doubles in size.
Once it has double in size take it out and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Take 1 pieces roll it out flat.
Wrap around the hot dog and pinch the ends.
Now using a knife, cut 8 slits make sure it goes through the hot dog, but not the bottom of the dough.
To make it into a flower, twist each section like this. When you get to the end place the last one in the middle.
Repeat until you have all 6 flower buns. Place on baking sheet with parchment paper.  Cover with plastic wrap to let it rise again. this should take about 1 hr.
Now spread some Egg wash over each flower buns.  Sprinkle some Shredded Cheese and chopped Green Onions.
Bake at 350 degrees F for about 12-15 mins or until golden. Remove from oven and enjoy!
